I love to save money on vacation! I sign up for free samples in the mail and when we go on vacation, I always bring my own shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, soap, etc. I always bring my own liquid wash detergent also in a reusable bottle.

We usually rent a house that is cheaper than staying at hotels plus they are usually stocked with everything you need to cook.
I bring my own spices and food, that way we only have to splurge to eat out when we absolutely want to and we don't go anywhere that we don't have a coupon for.
For traveling, we bring our own snacks and drinks in a cooler so we never have to stop at a store for anything but gas.
It's great to explore the local farmer's markets and bring back fresh fruits and vegetables to cook with. It's great to support the local farmers and it is cheaper than buying in the grocery store.
If we end up staying in a hotel, I book online for great prices, make sure they have free breakfast, and save the shampoo, soap, conditioner and lotions they stock the bathroom with on a daily basis (they put more out every day), and I always come back with more than I left with to use at home.
Saving money in so many little ways allows us to have a great vacation on a budget!
