"For the Birds"
Here's a frugal craft activity moms can make in the fall; when the kids are back to school!
A while back my daughter was into scrapbooking and was given a huge stack of scrapbooking paper as a gift. There were all sorts of pretty patterns and colours and I knew they were too good to sit in our craft box collecting dust!
I was inspired by a picture I saw in a magazine and created this DIY art piece that now hangs in my living room.
To make it you’ll need:
Scrapbooking paper
frame
black construction paper
pencil
scissors
glue
Instructions:
On black construction paper draw out your design. I did mine freehand but you could easily trace something. Use the “image search” feature on your browser and print off a silhouette of anything you like!
Carefully cut out your image and position it where you want on your scrapbooking paper. When it looks right, glue down. Use a light hand when gluing, it’s only paper and you don’t want it to seep out at the sides.
Position in your frame, reattach the back and voila!
I had all the items lying around my house so this project cost me nothing! Now wasn’t that easy? Have fun making your own.
