Summers in our home mean lots of fishing. You just don’t realize how much money you can save all year by carefully freezing the fish you catch.

We recently caught lots of fluke and bass. When we got it home we gut it, wash it, filet it, and wrap it carefully to freeze some (not all of it).
I usually make a large batch of beer battered fish that we have during the week. This is also great to make ahead and freeze. Just like fish sticks (only better) you pop them out of the freezer, put them in the toaster oven, and have fish quickly any time and any day.
I recently went shopping and looked at the fresh fish counter to see how much the fish was selling for. It was at least $5.99 or more per pound.
A great way to save up for the year if you like to fish during the spring, summer, or fall seasons. And, it's a healthy alternative to eating meat.
