One of my tips is making use of your local Craig's List at craigslist.org. This is a free advertising listing online where you can buy, sell, and best of all, find FREE items you may be searching for. I have been fortunate to find many items completely free for my home.
Many people would rather have you pick up their items just so they can have more room in their home rather than having to deal with hassle of garage sales or even setting up for an organization pick-up.
You need to search for your local areas under FREE. (see editor's note below)
You will be amazed at what people are getting rid of. Furniture, appliances, even autos.
