Have you ever needed a large tray for serving a birthday cake/cupcakes, fruit tray, cheese platter? I found myself in that situation when I was making large fruit and vegetable arrangements for a birthday party, serving 70 people.

Nothing I had was large enough, or flat enough, so I hunted around in the local discount store and found the solution.
I bought a large poster frame - the type that has four thin removal metal pieces for the frame, a clear plastic top and underneath a white mat (paper) that you would usually remove and replace with the poster you were going to frame.
Perfect sturdy surface on which to place the fruit or vegetable arrangement, washable plastic surface that can be used over and over. And although I didn't have time on this particular occasion, you could place pictures of the birthday person or pictures relating to the special occasion or draw and have kids color a "poster" to go under the plastic cover.
Really the ideas are unlimited. You can buy the poster frames in many sizes that can be used for a small item like a cheese ball and crackers or the largest fruit and vegetable arrangement as I did.
