When my washcloths (purchased after the holidays for 75% off) start getting worn out, I save money by getting 4 different uses out of them.

When they look too bad to keep in the bathroom to wash with, they move to the kitchen to clean tough stains, grease spots, dishes and such.
When they get so stained that I'm embarrassed for anyone to see them, they move to the shop outside for my husband to use for oil changes, car washes, etc.
When they are in their final stage of use and have really broken down, I use them outside in any spot I don't want weeds, such as the edge of my garden. They get covered with mulch at no cost (just chopped up leaves) for a weed proof edge.
I have had great success using my old bath mats or floor mats in this way also and have had areas that have been completely WEED FREE for years, at NO COST!
