"Peppermint Candy Ornament"
A couple of years ago I saw the cutest peppermint ornaments on a Christmas display and that is how I got the inspiration for these. My peppermint ornaments are actually made out of repurposed wooden beads that I kept from an old macramé pot holder.
Materials:
Wooden beads bought at the craft store, or repurposed from something else!
White and red craft paint.
Spray adhesive
Translucent craft glitter
Cellophane wrap
Rickrack
Steps:
Paint the wooden bead white (this took me two coats to get goot coverage) and let dry completely.
Paint swirly red stripes the are diagonally and vary in width from top to bottom of bead. You can not mess this up! Use a peppermint candy as a guide if you are unsure. Let this dry.
After paint is dry, lightly spray with adhesive and when adhesive feels tacky to the touch, roll in glitter.
Wrap candy in cellophane and tie the ends with rickrack!
