Submitted by Anna Fischer of Colorado

Angel tree topper 1

"Fuzzy Angel"

I hand knitted this ornament because my husband and I had recently moved and had no ornaments to decorate the tree. We also had no money, so I scrounged up yarn and beads I had around the house, and got creative.

Supplies:

Lion Brand Fun Fur ($1 for a ball at the Dollar Tree)
Any type of yarn will do, I doubled up with Acrylic yarn and Fun Fur in cream color for the body, and just the acrylic for the wings
10-12 beads for halo
2 beads for eyes.

Instructions

Body of Angel:

Size 8 single-pointed needles. Cast on 24 stitches. Knit back and forth 2.5-3 inches. Decrease by knitting 2 then 2 together, repeat until down to 1 stitch. Sew together on back. This is similar to making a hat, just scaled down a bit.

Wings:

Cast on 8 stitches and knit back and forth about 1 inch then decrease by knitting 2 then 2 together. Do this twice to make both wings, sew together and onto back of body of angel.

Head:

Wrap yarn into a tight ball until reaches desired size then sew tight.

Finishing touches:

Thread beads string for halo and sew 2 beads on for eyes.

Enjoy!
