Homemade Christmas Ornaments: Clothespin Soldiers

Submitted by Linda High of California

Clothespin Soldier Ornaments

"Soldier Man"

My son made me a soldier man many years ago when he was in Cub Scouts. He is now 30. This past Christmas I decided it was time to recreate the soldier and give them as gifts to all my friends in a tribute to my son and all the soldiers across the land that are defending our country so that we may live free and share the spirit of Christmas.

Materials:

Clothespin
Acrylic paint
Rick-rack
Ribbon
Pipe cleaners
Pompoms, black or red
Hot glue gun
Sewing glue
Gold string

Directions:

Paint the legs white and torso blue or you may choose blue legs and red torso.

Glue silver ribbon around chest, then belt, then rack-rack down each side of leg.

You may either drill hole through clothes pin for arms and thread through, or just glue pipe cleaners on each side.

Hot glue PomPom on head. Sew gold thread through PomPom to hang on Christmas tree.
