"I Wish 'Ewe' a Very Merry Christmas"
This is a sweet little ornament reminds those who receive it of the special sacrificial 'lamb' that was born on Christmas Day! Even the littlest ones can help make them. My two girls (5&9) made these with me and we made 16 in about 2 hours.
To make it:
Yarn (white, cream, tan, brown, black – whichever you like) we used taupe, and cream because we had that on hand.
Pipe Cleaners aka: chenille stems in black (one stem for 2 ewes)
Ribbon in color of choice (we used burgundy because that's what we had)
Black or brown felt
Small googly eyes
Other supplies:
Scissors, glue, DVD case, tape
Clip a 6 inch piece of yarn (you'll use this to tie the body)
Take your yarn and tape the start of it to the short side of your DVD case. Wind the yarn around the DVD case 85 times.
Slide the yarn off the DVD case and tie it tightly in the middle with the 6 inch piece of yarn. It will look like a figure 8. Tie a knot. You will cut the loops on this after you've added the feet and hanger.
Cut 2 – 2 inch pieces of pipe cleaner. Slide them cross ways into the tied yarn and bend them to make legs and little feet.
Cut a 6 inch piece of ribbon and slide it into the tied yarn on the opposite side of your feet. Tie a knot to make a loop (this will be the hanger).
Clip the loops on the yarn and trim to make a fluffy ewe, careful not to 'trim the legs'.
Cut a face out of felt and glue on to ewe.
Glue googly eyes on to face.
