This ornament is special to our family because it is fun, economical, and uniquely different each year. It has become a holiday tradition for us to create lego ornaments before Christmas, and we now have four on our tree!
Our Lego Ornaments began a few years ago. I found Lego ornament kits in a store. They were out of my price range at the time, but I loved the idea. We had lego toys at our home already, so I gave my children a handful and told them to make anything they wanted to create an ornament. When they finished, we glued the pieces together and then add a thread hanger (glued between bricks).
My 6 year old made this 'birdhouse'. He went to my junk jar to get extra embellishments and even found a little bird to add to it!
A tradition was born! Every year since then, we have a Family Lego-Imagination Ornament night. Ornaments change yearly and have ranged from bird houses to snowflakes and little trees! We add a date and name on the back with marker. The kids enjoy viewing their creations from years past when we decorate the tree. And it all started with imagination, spare legos and this little bird house!
