"Ribbon Pinecone Ornament"
This ornament looks really cute especially when considering how easy it is to make!
The supplies are easily obtained. You will need an egg-shaped styrofoam ball, tiny craft pins (sequin pins), 3/4-inch flat ribbon (not wire-edged), 1/8-inch ribbon to hang it from.
Cut the 3/4-inch ribbon into 1 1/2-inch long pieces. Fold each 1 1/2-inch piece into triangles (fold the top right corner down to the bottom middle and fold the top left corner down to the bottom middle). Starting at the bottom (smaller) end of the egg-shaped foam pin the triangles (one pin in each of two corners) onto the egg overlapping each slightly over the one before.
Progress up the egg in overlapping rows, slightly off-center from the row before (so the point of the triangle ribbon will overlap between two triangles in the row before). Continue this until you have covered the entire egg.
Arrange the 1/8-inch ribbon into several small loops (inch or so) and one larger loop. Pin this entire piece into the top of the pinecone - use the large loop as the ornament hanger.
